The Canadian producer Scott Monteith, better known Deadbeat, is ready to release his eighth studio album, simply titled Eight. After a hefty catalogue on the way during over a decade, Eight will be available on September 10th 2012 via BLKRTZ – the label Monteith launched last year – in CD, digital, and deluxe 3×12 vinyl editions, with worldwide distribution via Kompakt.
This new album shows him continuing to refine the lurching style of dubby techno that’s been his calling card for over a decade. He’s joined in the studio by fellow Berlin-based Canadian Mathew Jonson, plus Cobblestone Jazz member Danuel Tate. Chilean minimal mainstay Dandy Jack makes an appearance as well.
The album features all previously unreleased tracks, except for Horns of Jericho, which came out this month on Dandy Jack‘s Rebirth EP, and a different version of Monteith and Tate‘s track Lazy Jane that was issued on a twelve-inch in April, theme with which we leave you waiting for enjoy the entire album in late summer.
