The German producer Nick Curly will release his debut album, Between the Lines, this March. The album will appear on his own label Cécille Records, in which Curly laid the foundation for his tech house career and made the Sound of Mannheim known all over the world.
Founder of labels like Cécille Records and 8bit, Curly is one of the best examples of the Sound of Mannheim. The German already had releases on famous labels like Cocoon Recordings or Plastic City. Also, the world-famous Ibizan club Space honored him with a residency, a distinction that is otherwise reserved for genre greats such as Carl Cox and Armin van Buuren.
Many of Curly‘s past EPs have been aimed expressly at the clubs, but with Between the Lines he is now taking the next step in his impressive career. He changes his tune a bit – its 13 tracks show a subtler side of his palette, a musical experience with virtuoso bass lines, distinctive vocal parts and organic percussion, sometimes thanks to soulful guest singers such as Rebecca Maas, Luca Sportiello and Worthy Davis, all this while maintaining the club energy that defines most of his catalog.
