Fat controller

Hypercolour is proud to present its next release packed full of relevant and otherwise very gifted producers in today’s market. Coming off of their collaborative release on Pets Recordings earlier this year, Glimpse and Martin Dawson team up with Hypercolour’s Co-Boss Alex Jones to bring us Fat Controller. Featuring a remix by the German analogue mystro Roman Fluegel, Fat Controller boasts an interesting batch of deep and dark backroom sounds. Treading its own unique and contemporary path, Hypercolour again impresses with this three-track package of flawless work.

Fat Controller pops off with its title track as Glimpse and Dawson deliver an astounding piece of afterhours delight. Pitched and heavily filtered vocals glaze over icy analog lines and a building groove. Absolutely one for the late night crowd, a raw sense of attitude and coolness make this one a top pick. Roman Fluegel picks up the remix for Fat Controller as he adds plenty of found sounds and analogue bits to make it more of an organic episode. His artistic touch and delicate melodies provide a dreamy deep house love affair. Alex Jones appears with Glimpse on the final track of the EP, Faulty Female, as they pair the dark sound of Fat Controller with a more outlandish beauty. Still keeping hints of afterhours deep techno, the two ultimately provide a free flowing, snappy tune with aggressive percussive hits and a rolling bassline. Never one to leave us empty handed, Hypercolour again proves its place as a label to watch for new intelligent and awe inspiring electronic music.
