Tim Green

Humming syrup

This see’s Tim Green firing on all cylinders. Coming straight out of the traps, Don’t like me is a beautiful dub tinged techno tune.

This is the Cocoon‘s curtain closer for 2013 and hopes to follow the success of their recent Beatport Techno number 1 from Harvey McKay. This is the third EP to feature on Cocoon from Mr. Green, following a run on previous labels like Four:TwentyGet Physical Music and Dirtybird over the last few years, making this his new musical home.

As the cold nights draw in, Tim draws upon the end of autumn with deep, dark throbbing beats, a sound that resonates with the UK isles current bleak winter shores. Don’t like me‘s dark house could be seen is the perfect snapshot of where Cocoon are in 2013 and will take things in 2014.

The flipside is a perfectly crafted, and exquisitely titled track, the name alone conjures a warm sounding sweet concoction. In truth, Humming syrup is a skittish thrumming beast, which really lets go in the final two minutes.

Expect to hear both tracks in a number of Dj sets over the Christmas and New Year party period.
