The White Lamp

It’s You

Bristol’s dynamic, funky house label Futureboogie Recordings, continues to present a slew of awesome young talent and projects. Another debut artist name arrives on the label as, The White Lamp, with It’s You, a forward thinking EP that contains influences and remixers that have trademarked the Bristol sound. It’s You contains the original tune by The White Lamp, with Eats Everything, Christophe, and Ron Basejam on remix duties.

The original mix maintains a steady funk based groove along with a soulful vocal and chorus. The addition of future disco samples and effects allow for the original to surely become a top tune in the Futureboogie catalogue. Next, Ron Basejam delivers a silky deep rendition of the track with a playful bass and dreamy vocal delays. Eats Everything and Christophe deliver a bold mix for the last track of the EP, which they’ve entitled the Acid Ouse Remix, delivering a large dose of 90’s inspired acid. Merging the acid sound with typical hints of funk heard in their own work, Eats and Christophe’s mix continues to display their unique take on house.

This release will appeal to new listeners of the Bristol sound as well as die hard Futureboogie fans. One can’t help but feel the love and party vibe Bristol has become known for over the past few years. Truly one can appreciate their unique and tasteful approach to making beats. Hopefully we will continue to hear groundbreaking releases and artists from this UK oasis.  ‘It’s You’ is yet another great step forward in the evolution of house.
