Following up a successful EP last month on Quantized Music, Siopis returns with another set of dark and dubby grooves, again accompanied with top Greek remixers; Habo Letki proves the dedication and consistency of the Quantized imprint. With past releases supported by the likes of Daniel Sanchez, Audiojack, and M.A.N.D.Y., Siopis pushes his unique sound into a standout electronic journey that aims to move dancefloors worldwide.
Siopis’ original title track Habo Letki kicks off the release with an aggressive tech treat, packed with dark, pitched vocal shots, hand percussion accents, and tension building key stabs. What ensues is a stomping masterpiece of four-to-the-floor sounds.
Accompanying the original on the release, two of Greece’s finest young producers showcase their talents as remixers for Habo Letki. First, Alex Dimou converts the already ominous track into an even more minimal and bass heavy direction. Relying heavily on classic 909 percs and a thick analog bass sound, Dimou’s smoky rendition offers a taste of intricate deepness.
Next up on remix duties, David Kassi brings a pitch bending pleasure as his rendition of the original hits heavily on spaced out effects and hearty synth stabs. The creeping vocals and rolling drum pattern make Kassi’s mix a massive dose of ice-cold groove.
Finally, Siopis closes the release with another original track, Ben is Gone, a sample heavy flow of change ups and breaks that are packed full of intricate percussive patterns and vocal shots. Siopis’ release once again proves Greece’s ability to stand out in today’s electronic music scene.
