Robosonic & Adana Twins

La fique

Building a reputation over the past year with their hit Worst Love on OFF Recordings, Robosonic deliver their next wave of bootlegged magic. Pairing up with Hamburg duo Adana Twins, the two minds come together to create a special dose of funky house music with La Fique. 2DIY4, Diynamic’s off shoot label, welcomes the collaboration as new moments in modern classics emerge generating a fresh energy and sound. As both artist groups plan to tour heavily this summer and into the fall, it is to be sure that they will be proudly playing out their latest work. Work that is sure to continue their domination of the digital charts, both sets of artists are ones to continue to watch as we move into 2014.

The title track opens the EP as the groups derive a sample from a classic Michael Wycoff track, its looping melodies and bass line give the track an old school tinge of moving dance music. Almost as if a live DJ were to chop up the 1982 original and place a more modern sounding seal on it, La Fique takes the listener back to a time when house music was appreciated for its simplicity and ability to move the floor. Barracuda takes a darker approach with a more fierce and dirty bass line, the disco flavors peak through at the right time. One undoubtedly able to make you move, its infectious summer time vibe make it more than appropriate considering the time of year.

Setting the stage for the carefree and open air vibes of the summer season, La Fique combines the essence of the groups’ abilities to put together a refreshed look back on traditional funk. Directed towards continuing their prolific and successful careers, the groups bring their best hand forward to complete a new gem in the 2DIY4 collection.  As the groups continue to build their reputation as DJs and producers, its no shock to see them already moving clubs all over the globe.
