Ray Okpara

Good times part 1

With a full album released on Mobilee, the imprint’s house-maven is proud to share some singles and remixes of his latest tracks. With much of his album Good Times, most of the journey parallels the journey he himself had while making the release. From good times with friends to loves lost and found, a rather personal and juicy pack of emotional electronic music. Featuring two of his singles from the album as well as a remix from the acclaimed Rodriguez Jr. Good Times Pt. 1 is a tasty teaser of what the album promises its eager listeners.

The opening and self-titled Good Times cracks open this chapter of high-grade beats. Filled with back and forth energy and flow, Good Times relies on popping top end and a bustling bass. Softer hand drums and cymbal splashes balance the energy from relaxed breaks to harder hitting drops. Showing off darker side Chi This Wonder Up continues to represent a sleek and deep sound, but more mysterious and menacing. Keeping in line with Ray’s fluidity of the album, Chi This Wonder Up raises the bar for what we can expect from the full-length track pack.

Rodriguez Jr. steps in to give Chi This Wonder Up classier feel with panning synth sustains and proper bouncing percussion. The occasional key perks and delayed snares add a bit of typical Jr. flair creating a solid mix to admire. His work continues to move floors around the world and his remix is another powerful tool to add to his arsenal. Continuing his campaign of Club Land, Ray will be touring much of South and Central America, as well as Asia and Europe to promote his album and of course, let the good times roll!
