Peter Pizutelli

Been touched 10

Spanish imprint Sincopat is most famous for its work with artists like AFFKT and Le Vinyl. Supplying regal and quality electronic music with consistent support from the best DJs and rising talent alike. Their Been Touched series is an opportunity to deliver more conceptual and free form compositions by artists from all over the globe. Sincopat’s tenth release in the Been Touched series is done by the hand of American artist Peter Pizzutelli, a name who has already seen success on labels like Nirvana Recordings and Shinshy Records. Shying away from his usual sound of club friendly tech house, Pizzutelli puts together something special for the imprint’s series proving his ability to float between production styles seamlessly.

A deeper and acidic vibe matches The Streets, a menacing and atmospheric track intended to take the listener’s mind to another place and time. Classic hip-hop vocals and a catchy bass hook give this track an attitude not to be resisted on the dance floor. Los Angeles People raises the energy of the release with hopping drum rhythms and jacking bass that still deliver the Pizzutelli attitude with a more somber punch. Perfect right before unleashing the peak time jams of the night, Los Angeles People is excellent for setting the mood right before the dance floor goes wild. Arpeggiated rhythms and synth melodies carry Nikit into an all out, retro-fueled funk phenomena. Classic Rhodes sounds and tasteful pop-inspired pits of vocal take this one to a new level of sophisticated dance music.

Digging down into a deeper and darker hole, Esperanza brings together all elements of the release, really driving home Pizzutelli’s eclectic music style. Progressive sounding with harder synth stabs and reverberating pads, a lot of space is created in this piece of audio genius. Putting forth the most emotion with an almost trance-like quality, Esperanza reminds one of the progressive house trends of the late nineties.  As a way to move freestyle and exciting music into the electronic scene, Sincopat does an excellent job yet again to curate their tasteful and carefully selected roster of the Been Touched series.
