Glimpse & Martin Dawson

Our friends

Since 2010′s Flying Scotsmen release on Cocoon, the pair have gone on to release originals and remixes for cutting edge labels like Get Physical, Leftroom, Crosstown Rebels, 20:20 Vision, and Hypercolour. Currently, Martin Dawson is riding high on the support for his remix collaboration with Catz n’ Dogz, on Ellum. Also, Glimpse has recently teamed up with fellow collaborator Alex Jones to release a new single, Bad Monday on Hypercolour.

Now on Pets Recordings, a label that is no stranger to forward thinking House & Deep House folks, the two will be added to the label’s already distinguished and talented line up. With releases by Eats Everything, Catz N’ Dogz, Coat of Arms, and Lee Jones (just to name a few), Pets is the perfect fit for this smashing producer duo. Martin Dawson and Glimpse’s release undoubtedly continues the legacy and quality Pets has always delivered to its fans and listeners.

Our Friends delivers an original by the duo, plus one alternative dub mix and one alternative vocal mix, both crafted with care by Mr. Dawson. While the original track is a dreamy groove with captivating vocals, and driving percussion, there is more meaning than meets the ears. According to Glimpse, the emotion behind this track was inspired by ‘our friends and colleagues in the industry flying around the world, playing gigs, downloading things in hotel rooms, and power napping in airports.’

Martin delivers quality and a more uplifting deep house sound with his Alt-Dub and Alt-Vocal mixes. Both of the alternative mixes deliver a club friendly groove with driving bass and percussive change ups. Between the original and alternative mixes, Our Friends can be played at home and at the club while delivering a unique vibe wherever the listener may be. Surely this release will be in top DJ crates around the world, from techno lovers to deep house cravers.
