Filsonik

New York City has had quite the history when it comes to house music. It has inspired much of modern day nightlife, club concepts, brilliant producers, and crazy parties. New York native Filsonik continues to support New York’s House Music crusade with his release on Dutch label, Memoria Music. Having already proved himself a talented producer in the 90’s, programming some of the grooviest percussive and bass patterns to date, his expertise is now leading him to his debut Ibiza residency this summer. With a combination of anticipating summer party vibes on The White Island, with his traditional old school rhythms, Filsonik delivers an EP that is hard to ignore.

The first of the tracks on the release, Soulful Thang is a bass heavy jacking house track with plenty of vintage percussive grooves and vocal snippets.  The second track of the release, Dolli, appears on the EP with an Original Mix, as well as a Dubstrumental. Both versions of the tune offer a summer vibe, more specifically an Ibiza summer vibe, with Latin inspired vocals, and pumping drum grooves. The Dubstrumental mix offers the same punch as the original, only stripped down with less vocal fills. Continuing success is something that this long time producer will surely witness. Having recently released work on labels like Desolat and New York’s own Objectivity, Filsonik’s Memoria release is a welcome addition to our summer dance floor arsenal.
