Eric Stornel a.k.a. Maetrik, Mariel Ito and Maceo Plex, is proclaiming yet another project in a drive to continue to excel in the global underground House and Techno realm. We have already learned of his ability from work he had done with Mothership, Audiomatique, Crosstown Rebels and Cocoon among others. However, attention is now turned to a new project, the creation of his own label Ellum Audio. Through Ellum Audio, his original sounds, vibrations and musical aesthetics combine to define and develop his unique sound.
Ellum Audio has debuted with the release of High & Sexy EP by the creator of the label. It is a fine example of his dark funk and altered harmonic Disco signature, which will undoubtedly bring about many proposals for future releases.
We now present his second feature, a release that effectively blows the dust off a piece created by the project of DJ Gregory & Michael Tordjam back in 2004, and was launched by the french label Basic Recordings. Now reshaped by Ellum Audio, it is back to the speakers of clubs with interesting remixes from Maceo Plex and Danny Daze.
In this evocation of retro, the works of both remixers lead us down a path full of sound space, filtered synth stabs and a touch of the homes of two artists. In a listen to these great couple of tracks, we are convinced that you will find the name of the EP very well justified.
