Alexi Delano & Shaun Reeves

The breeze

One quarter of Visionquest, Shaun Reeves joins the eminent Alexi Delano on the label’s latest etheral journey. The Breeze, featuring vocals by the bewitching Charlotte CarterAllen, also includes a remix from Thomas Melchior aka Melchior Productions Ltd. Another second original from Reeves and Delano entitled The Mistral will create stronger winds on the dance floor.

London-based Alexi Delano has over two decades of influential productions under his belt, releasing deep house through techno records on renowned labels such as Plus 8, Minus, Drumcode and SVEK. Delano has plans to release his sixth album The Art of Collaboration on Swedish Techno label H-Productions and is staying busy growing his own imprint, AD Limited.

Melchior adds his signature groove and percussion to his rendition of The Breeze. A tighter loop advances the style towards techno and away from the original’s spaced-out house groove. Detroit native Reeves and former New Yorker Delano layer dubbed synths and airy vocals against a grooving bass line on both originals. The Breeze crescendos and provides a more gentle ride than The Mistral. On The Breeze, vocals from Charlotte Carter-Allen soothe the soul and carry the track pleasantly.

The Mistral borrows its name from the strong winds that affect the south of France throwing down pretty heavy with its slamming groove. This is something partygoers hopefully heard from the Visionquest crew during their sets at Time Warp, fabric, and ADE.
