Mute is proud to announce the launch of the Plastikman new album, EX, the first album published after the release of Closer in 2003. Plastikman, Richie Hawtin’s alter ego, recorded EX at the Guggenheim in New York with a very spectacular staging around an impressive Led obelisk. This special performance was an invitation by fashion designer and Dior artistic director, the Belgian Raf Simons, for a charity event held every year at the museum.
Plastikman only acts this year in a single show at Sonar 2014 on Thursday, June 12. The show, which runs until 23:00 pm on Thursday 12 at Sonar by Day, arrives in Barcelona with a special adaptation for SonarVillage, including the Led set-up to completely transform the space. The next day, Friday 13th June, Hawtin will perform at Sonar, this time with one of his sets of high-precision technology in SonarClub in Sonar by Night.
EX is digitally published on June 10 and in physical format on July 14 via Minus/Mute. Mute is the label run by Daniel Miller, who will be playing in the prelude to Plastikman performance at Sonar by Day.
