After a year of absence, Moogfest is back in 2014 stronger than ever. The promoter who is now in charge of the event is Paxahau, also organizer of Detroit’s Movement. AC Entertainment was formerly in charge of carrying out the festival, but the relationship between the company and Moog came to an end in December 2012, so from that moment the company created by Bob Moog began negotiating with Paxahau. In 2013 not arrive in time, so 2014 is the year. It returns with a line-up for all ages and tastes, headed by Kraftwerk, Laurie Anderson, Chic’s Nile Rodgers and Giorgio Moroder.
The Kraftwerk live experience is a perfectly synchronized audio-visual spectacle complete with pristine digital sound and breathtaking 3-D projections. It is a pure electronic art-rave that epitomizes Kraftwerk’s musical and technical innovation, and embodies the spirit, and new direction, of Moogfest.
The festival is held in Asheville (North Carolina), which is where Bob Moog resided during his last 30 years, from 23 to 27 April. In addition to the above artists, are advertised Green Velvet, Soul Clap, RJD2, Regular Play, Sasha, Nick Monaco, Mark Farina, Art Department and many more.
These artists will join in the company of the nightly music showcase curators including Experimental Record Labels Warp Records, DFA, Fool’s Gold, Ghostly International, No. 19 Music’s Social Experiment, RVNG Intl., and Driftless Recordings. Plus Electronic Tastemakers Crew Love, Brooklyn-based Cultural Organization Afropunk, Detroit’s Movement Festival, North Carolina’s Hopscotch Festival, and Austin’s Switched On.
