You probably best know Lopazz for the quality, avant-garde club music he’s produced for labels like Get Physical Music, Cocoon Recordings or Poker Flat Recordings, but he runs also the German multimedia label 800achtspur, which has released records by Mason Mesud Stevensen, Casio Casino and many others. Lopazz is also renowned as a film and television composer, having written and performed more than fifty tv and documentary scores over the years.
In 2003, Lopazz self-titled ep of off-kilter dance music was discovered by Andreas Baumecker and released on his Freundinnen label, later signed on Trevor Jackson’s Output Recordings, This was followed by the singles Blood, remixed by Tiefschwarz, and his first club hit I need ya, which techno legend Sven Vath snapped up for his Sound of the Fourth Season mix CD. His relationship with Berlin-based Get Physical Music began with his remix of Chelonis R. Jones’ I don’t know. In 2007 he released a new 12” for the label, this time entitled Share my rhythm. In the same year Lopazz released his album Kook kook, a perfect document of his witty and avant-garde electronic funk blueprint, being playful, imaginative, intimate and impossible to pigeonhole. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 Lopazz produced all tracks, releases and remixes for Dj T.
