North Yorshire’s Beacons Festival presents a great bet for music and culture over the weekend from 7th to 10th August 2014. In the music department will have to Darkside, Daughter, Jon Hopkins, The Fall and Nightmares on Wax as major live artists, and Dixon, Roman Flugel, Mano le Tough, Special Request, Daniel Avery, Max Graef, and Aartekt as djs.
Building upon the fabulous display of creative talent last year, Beacons will once again invite a carefully selected collection of visual and sculptural artists to enliven the fields with installation art. The Neon declarations of love, which have towered above the fields of Beacons for the last two years, are an apt example of the kind of projects realized here.
After last year’s extremely popular film showings and Q&A sessions with directors and screenwriters, they will be bringing back an enticing schedule of independent films, thought-provoking documentaries and guest speakers.
In between the stages and the dance tents lie the colourful and curious encounters that make a festival so memorable. The Space Between hosts a cornucopia of visual attractions and immersive wonderments for you to discover, including literary and spoken word tents, the Into the Woods stage, roaming performances and multiple art installations.
